Yesterday, there was a kid near Adventureland who was about 4 years old or so. he was a wearing a princess crown, had a princess wand, the autograph book was princesses, etc. and there was a grown man teasing him about “being gay”. A grown man.

Peter Pan likes to hang around the Adventureland bridge and he happened upon that scene. Not liking what he saw, especially from a grown up, he spoke up:

“Excuse me, sir, but I’m about to give you some advice I never tell anyone: grow up.”

Finally it seems someone has actually considered what it is like to be female in this cruel world and how easily our little minds can be intimidated and denied the opportunity to do our life’s work. Here’s a quick history lesson. The word Hysterical comes from the Greek Hysterikos, which literally means “of the womb.” Plato and his contemporaries actually believed that when the uterus remained empty for too long, it would start wandering angrily through the body and smack into women’s brains, making them act irrational — or as Golub would say, “shrill and angry.” Hysteria was a catch-all medical diagnosis used until the late nineteenth century as a way to discredit and isolate women who tended to show strong emotions or “cause trouble,” and the “treatment” of these women is a black mark on the history of the entire psychological profession. Doctors would “manually stimulate” (read: sexually assault) women’s genitals to tame their wild uteruses, and if that didn’t work, women would be institutionalized. Of course, this horrifying practice was still a massive improvement to the lively stake-burning that was used to cure the fictional disorder during the Inquisition.

“Women as Livestock” Bill passes in Georgia

After an emotional 14-hour workday that included fist-fights between lobbyists and a walk-out by women Democrats, the Georgia House passed a Senate-approved bill Thursday night that criminalizes abortion after 20 weeks.

The bill, which does not contain rape or incest exemptions, is expected to receive a signature from Republican Gov. Nathan Deal.

HB 954 garnered national attention this month when state Rep. Terry England (R-Auburn) compared pregnant women carrying stillborn fetuses to the cows and pigs on his farm. According to Rep. England and his warped thought process, if farmers have to “deliver calves, dead or alive,” then a woman carrying a dead fetus, or one not expected to survive, should have to carry it to term.

I live in Georgia. I’ve had an incomplete miscarriage. This horrifies and sickens me. 

Tell me again how there’s no War on Women. I dare you.
